Patrick J. Kelty, MD, has joined the ophthalmology practice of Graystone Eye as a retina specialist. Dr. Kelty’s area of specialty is the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases affecting the retina and vitreous, including diabetic eye disease, retinal detachment, age-related macular degeneration, uveitis (inflammation), blood vessel disorders, intraocular tumors, macular holes, scar tissue on the macula, hereditary retinal disorders, and retinal edema. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Kelty received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his surgery internship at the Medical University of South Carolina. His ophthalmology residency was completed at Storm Eye Institute at the Medical Univer- sity of South Carolina and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship was completed at the University of South Florida Eye Institute. In addition to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Kelty is a member of the American Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He has been an investigator in national clinical trials studying the efficacy of new therapies to treat diabetic macular edema, age-related macular degeneration, and chronic uveitis. Dr. Kelty has been married to his wife, Jessica, for eleven years and they have four children. |
