Laser and Light Treatments

PhotoRejuvenation

PhotoRejuvenation is a series of Intense Pulsed Light Treatments that improve the appearance of Rosacea, flushing, sun damaged skin, age spots, skin texture, and photo aging. An intense light is applied in a series of gentle pulses over the treatment area.

The light penetrates through the skin and is absorbed by the abnormally dilated vessels or pigmentation. The heat from the light impairs the vessel or lesion causing the body’s natural healing process to begin. The lesion will darken then flake off or be absorbed by the body.

PhotoRejuvenation can also improve mild acne scars, reduce large pores, correct dark circles around the eyes, and reduce fine lines. The treatment is quick and requires no down time so you can resume your normal activities immediately.

Laser Hair Removal

Unwanted hair can be embarrassing and a nuisance to remove. The FDA approved laser treatment is a non-invasive approach to permanent reduction and long-term hair removal. The treatment is specifically designed to eliminate undesired hair from all parts of the body for men and women.

Treatments are customized according to hair color, texture, and location on the body. Laser hair removal is most effective on darker, course hair. The first step in hair removal is to cleanse and shave the area. Using pulses of light from a highly concentrated light beam the hair follicle is destroyed without damaging the surrounding tissue.

Laser hair removal can be completed safely, quickly, and requires no down time so you can resume your regular activities immediately.

The procedure requires more than one treatment, during your consultation you will be advised as to the approximate number of treatments you will need. Laser hair removal takes multiple sessions and package pricing is available.

Spider Vein Therapy

Lasers and sclerotherapy can be safely used for spider vein treatment, including veins visible on the face, neck, chest and legs. Specifically designed for treating spider veins the heat of the laser damages the walls of the veins. Sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution in the vein, which causes a chemical irritation to the vein wall, which over time will cause the vein wall to collapse. The body then begins its natural healing process causing the veins to shrink and become less visible or disappear completely. Using the laser allows the treatment to be customized for virtually every small vein disorder.

Laser leg vein therapy is also a no down time procedure so you can return to your regular activities immediately. The number of treatments you will need depends on the size of the vein being treated and your body’s ability to heal.

In your consultation you will be given an estimate of the number of treatments required for optimal results.

Photodynamic Treatment

Photodynamic Treatment is an advanced cosmetic treatment performed with a topical photosensitizing agent called Levulan. It is applied to the skin and activated with the correct wavelength of light.

It is a safe and effective alternative to treat acne, including the hard to treat acne vulgaris, Rosacea, sun-damaged skin, fine lines, pigmentation, and rough skin patches. It can also minimize pores and reduce oil glands. Photodynamic Treatment is also commonly used to treat severe sun damage and pre-cancerous skin lesions and this treatment may be covered under your insurance.

The treatment may result with mild redness or swelling that will subside in the days following treatment. Strict sun avoidance is a must for 48 hours after each session. Photodynamic Treatment sessions are usually spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart.

ClearLight/PDT Acne Therapy Packages include 4 sessions with microdermabrasion and Levulan.
