Optical Technician – All Locations

If you are looking for a career in the eye industry, have great interpersonal skills, are detail-oriented, and are passionate about helping others, a career as an Optical Technician at Graystone Eye may be for you! 

We are seeking an individual with a strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills to join our Optical Team. On the job training will be provided for this position; however, experience in the eye care industry is preferred.  This individual will be instrumental in educating patients about frame and lens options and advising which options help to achieve the best visual outcome.  The Optical Technician is responsible for fitting, measuring, and adjusting glasses as well as filing insurance, repairing glasses, and assisting patients with any other optical need. This position reports to the Director of Optical Services/Chief Clinical Officer. 

This is a full-time position with benefits. A high school diploma is required, and previous eye care experience is preferred.  This position requires travel to most/all locations as well as Saturday hours.  Certification is not required for hire but is mandatory by year one-anniversary date.  

 

Business Office Representative – Hickory

The primary responsibilities for this position are to follow up on all insurance claims, posting of payments, making adjustments, working denials and reports, handling billing and insurance calls as required, processing refunds and collection accounts, referring patients for assistance and setting up payment plans and other duties as assigned or needed, and collaborating with other departments on posting errors.

Education/Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individuals must have knowledge of medical insurance, excellent communication, and organizational skills, proficient in most software applications and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Associate’s Degree in related field preferred; one year certificate from college or technical school; or three years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a full-time position with benefits, and a high school diploma/GED is required.  

Ophthalmic Assistant – Hickory Office

 We are seeking an individual with strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills to join our Clinical Team.  On the job training will be provided for this position for the right candidate; however, experience in the eye care industry is preferred.  

DUTIES:  This role is responsible for obtaining clinical related data as delegated by the physician to allow proper professional diagnosis of patient’s conditions.  Must have great interpersonal skills, be detail oriented, and like to work as part of a team.  This individual will be a vital part of performing the patient workup prior to the physical exam, as well a valued team member of physician teams.  This position reports to the Clinical Coordinator/Chief Clinical Officer.  This is a full-time position with benefits. This position requires travel to most/all locations. 

EXPERIENCE:  A high school diploma is required, and previous eye or healthcare experience is preferred.  Certification is not required for hire but is mandatory by year one-anniversary date to retain the position. 

Surgery Scheduler – Boone Office

We are seeking an individual with strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills to join our Clinical Team.  On the job training will be provided for this position for the right candidate; however, experience in the eye care industry is preferred.  

DUTIES:  This role is responsible for scheduling all pre-operative testing/surgical dates/postop care needed for the patient, promotes patient confidence in their medical care by ensuring the patient understands surgical consents/instructions while giving the best experience possible; acts as a liaison between the surgeon, surgical facility, patient and primary care physician.  This is a full-time position with benefits. This position requires travel to most/all locations. 

EXPERIENCE:  A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and two (2) years previous eye or healthcare experience as a surgery scheduler is preferred. 

 

Patient Representative – Graystone Aesthetic Center – Hickory Office

Must be available to work extended hours, Monday through Friday, and occasionally on weekends-non-negotiable.

CENTER HOURS

Monday and Thursday 8am-6pm

Tuesday and Wednesday 8am-5pm

Fridays 8am-1pm

This position is often more than 8 hours per day

and/or 40 hours per week and often requires late evenings and/or weekends.

Graystone Aesthetic Center is seeking an individual with a strong sales and customer service background. On-the-job training will be provided for this position; however, experience in the beauty industry is preferred.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and be proficient in most software applications in a windows environment.

EXPERIENCE:  One year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.  High School Diploma/GED required.    Proficient mathematics skills are needed to be successful in this role, as well as the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences and memos, and the ability to communicate efficiently. This role does have direct patient contact and will require a person to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, with customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

DUTIES:  The essential duties and responsibilities are as follows (but not limited to): Answers incoming calls, makes appointments, re-schedules appointments, transfers calls and directs them in the area needed, pages physicians as needed, screens calls, records messages for physicians and clinical teams, assists patients with any concerns, collects demographic information; enters referrals as needed, prints encounter forms, demand statements, and appointment lists as necessary, and any duties deemed necessary or may be assigned in the front office.  This role also focuses on product sales and fee posting.  This is a full-time position with benefits. A high school diploma/GED is required.

Licensed Aesthetician-Graystone Aesthetic Center-Hickory Office

Graystone Aesthetic Center focuses on creating a relaxing and professional experience for all our patients.  We are looking for a licensed aesthetician who would help grow our aesthetic business along with our cosmetic surgery business. To excel in this position, you should be self-motivated and highly customer service-oriented. You’ll be responsible for selling products as well as providing services and referring patients to the Doctors for surgical procedures.   Full-time hourly plus incentives.

Experience:  Required NC Esthetician license and experience working as an Aesthetician for at least 1 year.  Prefer Laser Certifications with Lumenis and Cynosure Lasers, but not required. 

Responsibilities and Duties:  Greet customers upon arrival and guide them through our list of products and services; Perform microdermabrasion, chemical peels, dermaplaning, and laser procedures.  Being certified to perform permanent makeup and microblading is a plus; Recommend products to enhance the patient’s results and protect their investment; Perform cosmetic makeovers and consultations; Participate in continuing education programs and staff meetings; Train new aestheticians and patient representatives as they join our staff; Cross trained to work in all areas of the aesthetic department 

Qualifications and Skills:  State esthetician license required; Laser Certification required; preferably for Lumenis and Cynosure lasers; Proficiency with skin care product knowledge and application technique; Ability to make products recommendations to patients while rendering services; Be detail oriented, Have a creative, outgoing, and positive attitude; Have excellent communication and organizational skills; Be proficient on most software applications in a windows environment (Microsoft Office); Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to compute percentages; Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and communications;Have the ability to problem solve in difficult situations; Driven to meet monthly goals.
