Biography
Dr. Paschall is a board certified eye surgeon with experience performing thousands of cataract surgeries. He partners with each patient to create a personalized plan aimed at achieving their best possible visual outcome—whether that means restoring clarity, reducing dependence on glasses, or simply making everyday life more vibrant.
He earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he graduated in the highest possible class ranking. While in medical school, Dr. Paschall was drawn to ophthalmology due to the profound impact improving vision can have on a person's life. In addition, he was captivated by the technological innovation in eye care, and he continues to be involved in clinical trials to advance knowledge in the field.
Although he grew up near the picturesque farmlands of central Indiana, Dr. Paschall now calls Hickory home after being drawn to the area by his wife, a native North Carolinian. Together, they are raising four children while enjoying all that western NC has to offer. Outside the exam room, he enjoys a wide range of activities: exploring the outdoors, reading across genres, staying involved in his local church, and following a variety of sports (especially whatever his kids are currently playing).
It has been his privilege to help underserved people locally and internationally. His outreach has included, among many things, helping run a free eye clinic in residency and performing sight-restoring surgery in Bolivia alongside Graystone team members.
Whether you're seeking a solution to cataracts or trying to maintain the best possible eye health, Dr. Paschall strives to combine skill, experience, and a personal touch to help you see the world more clearly.
