The Best Team in Diagnosing & Treating All Retina Conditions
Dr. Kelty and Dr. Williams are trained in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the retina and vitreous.
Dr. Kelty and Dr. Williams, along with their highly trained staff, employ state-of-the-art techniques and equipment in the diagnosis and treatment of all their retina patients.
Facilities at Graystone Eye include digital angiography, ocular coherence tomography (3-d retinal imaging) ultrasound imaging of the eye as well as full laser capabilities.
Diabetic Eye Disorders
Patients with diabetes can have severe problems with the retina, the tissue that lines the back of the eye. “Leaking” blood vessels can lead to the development of a swollen retina with subsequent decreased vision. Poor circulation may allow abnormal blood vessels to grow, which can lead to bleeding within the eye. Untreated, this could result in severe visual loss or even blindness.
Both Dr. Kelty and Dr. Williams have received training in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic retinopathy including: interpretation of Fluorescein Angiography which is a photographic intravenous dye study, laser surgery and vitrectomy surgery. Dr. Williams has a special interest in diabetic eye disease and is actively involved in clinical research concerning diabetic retinopathy.
