Dr. Calderon specializes in vitreoretinal surgery and the treatment of a wide range of retinal conditions, including retinal detachment and tears, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, macular holes and puckers, retinal vein and artery occlusions, ocular trauma, and ocular infections such as toxoplasmosis and histoplasmosis.
Certifications & Professional Associations
Dr. Calderon is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and actively participates in Maintenance of Certification. He is also a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists.
Medical Education
Dr. Calderon completed a two-year Retina-Vitreous Surgery Fellowship at Retina Specialists of Ohio/MetroHealth Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, followed by a transitional internship at West Virginia University School of Medicine – Charleston Division. He earned his medical degree through the Cambridge Overseas medical training program and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
