Dr. Bute provides primary eye care with a strong background in ocular disease management. Her clinical experience includes caring for patients with glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, post-operative surgical care, specialty and soft contact lenses, binocular vision concerns, and low vision needs.
Biography
Dr. Molly Bute is excited to join the team at Graystone Eye and serve patients throughout the High Country. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry, where she developed a strong foundation in primary eye care and ocular disease. Following graduation, she completed a residency in ocular disease and primary care at the WJB Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina, receiving advanced training in the diagnosis and management of complex eye conditions, specialty and soft contact lenses, binocular vision, and low vision.
Prior to joining Graystone Eye, Dr. Bute practiced medical optometry, where she cared for patients with glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and post-operative cataract and glaucoma surgery. She worked closely with ophthalmologists across multiple specialties, including cornea, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, and oculoplastics, providing comprehensive, collaborative care for patients with a wide range of ocular conditions.
Dr. Bute is passionate about building meaningful relationships with her patients and believes exceptional eye care begins with listening, education, and personalized treatment. She looks forward to serving the Boone community and helping patients protect and preserve their vision for years to come.

Dr. Bute earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Augustana College.
